GRID: Lauren Brooks, Willis McGahee and Julian Serna Out For Season!

Lauren Brooks has been diagnosed with a torn hamstring that will require up to three months of rehab.

“We were all holding our breath after she withdrew from the Atlantic Regional, but after meeting with a few doctors about her injury, it was advised that she step down this year,” Wiswall said.

Julian Serna fought through the competition at the Atlantic Regional, but it took a toll on his body. He has been diagnosed with two herniated discs and will undergo rehab and take some recovery time before he can begin training again. The team will miss his combination of strength and body control.

Willis McGahee, the two-time NFL Pro Bowl running back signed by the Miami Surge at the Miami Pro Day, had a minor nagging shoulder injury that flared up last week during practice. An X-ray revealed a small piece of floating bone in his shoulder that likely will require surgery. He is scheduled for a follow-up appointment this week, but the outlook does not look positive for him to play this year.
